Connie Barrera is the Chief Information Security Officer at Jackson Health System. She has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry and a proven track record in healthcare. Connie is responsible for security architecture, operations, and policy development related to privacy, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT services. She develops and maintains risk management, security awareness, and compliance programs to meet legislated requirements. Connie is also active in industry trade conferences, has written articles, and mentors young students through the IT Women organization. She received numerous awards, including the Citrix Technology Professionals Award in 2015 and the ISE South East Executive People's Choice Award in 2016. Connie has an Executive MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy from the University of Miami and a BS from Florida International University. She is the mother of two boys; one of her passions is good music.
