Joel Klein is responsible for system-level IT initiatives for more than 27,000 team members, 14 hospitals, 150 practice locations, and over 3,500 affiliated physicians at the University of Maryland Medical System.
He spends his days thinking about technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, informatics, and applications critical to their ability to provide the highest quality care, like Epic.
With nearly 20 years of experience as a working emergency physician, formerly serving as President of the emergency medicine practice at one of the busiest ERs in the state, this combined experience gives him a unique perspective in tackling some of their medical system’s most pressing clinical and operational challenges.
