Maria has over 27 years of experience in information security, information technology, and audit/compliance. She is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC). Maria oversees the delivery of all technology services for UMC and leads the Information Security Program. Before her promotion to CIO, Maria was the Director of IT/Information Security Officer. Before joining UMC, Maria directed the IT Compliance Program at MGM Resorts and led security operations programs at Walgreens and Kellogg’s. She received her MBA from Western Governors University and her undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She holds certifications for CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, CDPSE, CISM, and CISA.
